THE NATURE PARK
Lake Boko has an area of about 240 hectares and is located in the north-east of the Special Economic Zone.
Due to the still undeveloped environment, this lake is suitable for the creation of a natural park. To this reason, 350 hectares of land around the Lake Boko are provided by the adjacent communities of Gassodei.
Overall, the nature park LAKE BOKO will have a surface area of 590 hectares. Lake Boko will be protected and used by Genesis exclusively as a nature reserve. Nothing new can be built around the lake, so that the coasts remain natural. There are only a few small typical Togolese settlements built on the edge of the Natural Park, which can be visited during visits to the reserve as a further attraction. There live people who take care of the nature reserve and also produce some craft items, which they sell to arriving tourists.
The attractions of the nature park also include the manatees, which are located in Lake Boko.
Estimated costs:
Realization of the natural park 586 ha 2,344,000 €
Construction of the buildings needed 300 m² 210,000 €
Estimated total costs for the natural park 2,554,000 €
