ROAD INFRASTRUCTURES
⦁ Drinking water
Genesis has set itself the goal of providing the Gassodei communities with a well-functioning freshwater system that most existing families and all new families receive drinking water in their housing unit.
The water pipes for the drinking water plant will be supplied at the same time as the construction of new roads within the Special Economic Zone. Drinking water is prepared for the inhabitants so that it tastes good and is healthy.
⦁ Water for agriculture
The area of the Special Economic Zone is surrounded by lakes; this is why agriculture can use large quantities of water to multiply current agricultural yields. In order to make efficient use of the water resource, it is planned to locate the farms along the main roads where the aqueducts are destined for agriculture. The water pipes for agriculture are connected to the network, so that the water can come from several pipes at the same time. In total, around 300 km of pipelines are needed for agriculture.
In most places within the new Special Economic Zone, the water is brought to the correct height by means of a suitable pumping system, so that the water can still be used at the highest points.
It is planned to stow the river that flows from Vogan into Lake Ekwi to the northwest, so that the water can flow into pipes, intended for agriculture in the north-west of the Special Economic Zone.
⦁ The connection to the telephone network
The connection to the public telephone network is essential for the proper functioning of a Special Economic Zone. For this reason, a well thought out system is needed to ensure that there are no technical difficulties on the spot in the future.
The connection with the intercontinental telephone cable will be effected by means of two transmission towers, which are installed in Lomé and in the Special Economic Zone.
The relating of the fixed network connections within the Special Economic Zone is via modern fibre optic cables, which is realized together with the new roads. In total, approximately 500 km of cables are required to connect the entire area.
⦁ The connection to the electricity
Within the Special Economic Zone, all companies and households must be connected to a new, reliable power grid. The electricity grid will be realized underground at the same time as the construction of the new roads.
The electricity grid must be connected to the public grid for safety, but it should work in total autonomy, so that the area is as independent as possible from external power grids and external electricity.
