INFRASTRUCTURES FOR INDUSTRIAL
The Genesis-project for Togo plans to create in total 21 industrial zones (IZ) inside of the Special Economic Area.
Industrial areas are the heart of the Special Economic Zone. They host European and local companies, which process most of the overall economic output.
The Special Economic Zone contains 20 industrial zones with a total of 470 hectares of industrial land, of which about half will be used for economic development in the first 15 years. The rest is destined for future expansion.
Industrial companies contribute more than other sectors to the export of the Special Economic Zone. However, industrial companies also use the internal market for the sale of their products.
The costs for the infrastructures for the industrial zones are estimated to be about 10 € per m², so then in total about 47 Mio. Euro.
